"Such a wonderful spot to facilitate deep connection and much needed R&R! The staff is truly world class - we were so amazed at the immediacy in which they responded to every question, request, and often anticipated our needs even before we spoke them! Stefanie and Madi were really really lovely to work with. The conference room and multi-purpose room were perfect settings for all of the sessions the team facilitated, and the team loved all of the personal touches and amenities provided in their cabins and on site. We opted to return to the campfires each night over going out on the town. It meant so much to me to show my team what Asheville is all about, and Wrong Way was such a beautiful representation of that. “Great location with a super friendly & helpful staff. We met 6 couples there for 5 nights each. We were close enough to bike or walk to several attractions. Yet far enough to feel like we were in our own private space. The staff set up tables, lights, & a place for us to BBQ in the “meadow” which yielded a fantastic setting to dine under the October moon. We had nightly campfires to visit & reconnect with our friends. I highly recommend the setting & the staff!” – Bill D.

“We held a small organizational multi-day meeting/retreat at Wrong Way with folks from around the East Coast, and it was a delight. The cabins are lovely and welcoming, the meeting/event space was great, and Shelton and the staff couldn't have been more hospitable. “Wrong Way has such a happy vibe! Each staff member I encountered was friendly and helpful. The cabin was simple but had everything I needed, plus the added fun of a record player and vintage records! The attention to detail and focus on environmental care was obvious in every area. “Great location, welcoming staff and pet friendly accommodations. Such a gem to find - across from the greenway with biking, walking trails along the river. Clean, comfortable and adorable A-frame cabins with such a nostalgic feel and perfect place to disconnect while being close to everything Asheville has to offer. Wrong Way has 16 stand-alone A-frame cabins to give each member of your group privacy and autonomy, as well as three unique event spaces for the group to gather and connect (campfires and mountain ambiance included). By partnering with local caterers and experienced providers, we can guide you to a fully customized itinerary of meals and activities. Forget those complicated convention centers. Our corporate event spaces make any business event (business meeting, corporate function, fundraiser, product launch, or seminar) one private party to remember.
Our Group Event Spaces
At Wrong Way, our unique venue is more than just an urban cabin campground—it’s your conference center in the mountains. Perfect for large groups, our event venue checks off all the boxes on your event planning list. In-house catering options? Check. Corporate meeting space? Check. One incredible event experience? Check.
“The Eddy” Indoor Event Space
Named after the slower current downstream of a river rock, this 850 sq. ft. event space can accommodate seated dinners or meetings of up to 36 people or a standing party of up to 50. There are two dedicated bathrooms and a catering kitchen for outside caterers. The space opens to a dedicated patio for seamless indoor/outdoor events. As we say here at Wrong Way, “Get caught in the Eddy and slow down to river-time."
“The Boardroom” Conference Room
Named after our love of paddle boarding on the river, the Boardroom is an eight-person conference room for rent for small group meetings, as a flex space, or just as a private office. The space has a 60-inch monitor, full A/V support for presentations, and reliable wi-fi, but the private balcony overlooking the French Broad River is where the real magic happens. Whether it's business casual or casual business, you can get your team “into the flow” with a private event in the Boardroom.
“The Meadow” Outdoor Event Space
Tucked back toward the rear of the property, high above the A-frame cabins, the wooded Meadow overlooks the French Broad River and Biltmore Estate property. Long-range mountain views make the space ideal for outdoor dinners, fireside chats, unforgettable birthday parties, or team-building activities. Dedicated fire pits and lawn furniture make this space the perfect venue to unwind.
Catering & Experiences
Wrong Way has partnered with James Beard Award semi-finalist Ashley Capps and her partner Travis Shultz from Newstock Pantry to deliver a seasonally-inspired, farm-sourced catering menu for your private dining needs. We have also partnered with a wide range of local experience providers to provide guests with a curated selection of activities and equipment rentals.
